HOW TO INSTALL
From download to typing with sound in under 3 minutes. Follow these 4 steps once, and every future sound pack installs in one double-click.
Download & Open the App
Grab BooomKeys.app from your purchase, unzip it and move it to your Applications folder. First time opening? macOS may warn about an unidentified developer — right-click the app, then click Open, then Open again.
Allow Permissions (2 toggles)
BooomKeys listens for your keystrokes to play sounds — macOS requires two permissions. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → enable BooomKeys. Then scroll down to Input Monitoring → enable BooomKeys. Quit & reopen the app after granting.
Pick a Sound Pack
Click the BooomKeys icon in your menu bar (top-right). Turn the master switch ON, then go to Keyboard → BooomKeys → choose a pack — Mechanical Thock, Gunfire and more. Start typing, enjoy the sound!
Buy More Packs & Install in 1 Click
Bought another sound pack? Download the zip, unzip it, then double-click Install.command inside — it auto-installs into the app and restarts it. Done. New sound, zero hassle. (If macOS blocks it, right-click Install.command → Open.)
⚠ NO SOUND? CHECK THESE
- Master switch in the menu bar menu is ON (blue)
- Accessibility AND Input Monitoring are both enabled in System Settings → Privacy & Security
- A sound pack is selected under Keyboard → BooomKeys
- Quit & reopen the app after any permission change
